I purchased this book for a friend who is an avid race fan. He is hard to please but this book was his favorite present.His excitement and love of the book grew with each page he turned. It is simply a beautiful book. From the museum style photography to the autograph watermarks the book is a treasure. The fact that it covers ALL types of racing (including homage to a car) only makes this book more amazing.
This book isn't about Dario but it is about the love of racing and those the racing personalities that Dario admires. I hope that this is the first in a series. It would be awesome to see who would make the list of other drivers.
My friend said, "I would love to have every picture in this book framed!" Quite a compliment!
Plus reading the heartfelt words for each person selected gave great insight. Dario did a great job with the essays.
This is a must have for race fans, photography fans, and anybody who enjoys reading about the characters that have shaped a sport.

One of the greatest drivers of modern times, writing with humor, honesty and poignance about his peers (including fallen ones). Just a privilege to read the historical perspective of a current hero like Dario Franchitti. Great photos too.
Informative and colorful! A wonderful book for all racing fans!
I bought this for my racefan hubby for Valentines Day. He loves looking thru it and all the drivers stories bring past many racing memories. Great book! Its very pricey though, so if it was not for a special occasion like Valentines Day, I honestly would have passed on it due to the high price.
This is the coolest book on racing in our collection. The passion of Dario Franchitti shines through amid glorious pictures. Andy Hallberry has put together a simply wonderful book that is a must have for any motorsports fan. For an autograph geek like me it has also been an incredible way to meet some absolute legends of racing.
I can't say much that hasn't already been stated in the review that Lisa Mercer posted. I am an avid IndyCar and F1 fan and have followed Dario's career for years so I was eagerly anticipating this book. As has already been stated, this is a book BY Dario (and Andy who I had a couple of great email exchanges with while waiting for delivery) not ABOUT Dario. The photography is spectacular and the essays accompanying each picture give a lot of insights into the subject as well as into what motivated Dario to be the racer that he was and will always be.

Terrific book by a great racer and motorsports historian. Dario Franchitti covers all types of motorsports legends and their influence on him. Such greats as Rick Mears, Tony Kanaan, Colin McRae and Dario's hero Jim Clark are featured in this book with essays from dario about each racer and fantastic photos of each subject. A great book for any motorsports fan.
