Welcome to the Well World a construct of an ancient defunct race known as the Markovians. The Well World acts both as the controller of and the gateway to 1560 worlds created by the Markovians at the end of their time.
Twilight at the Well of Souls is a direct continuation of the story started in The Return of Nathan Brazil. The rift in space created in the earlier book is now even larger and threatens to permanently damage the Well of Souls. Mavra Chang and Nathan Brazil race to reach the Well and find a solution before it is too late.
Arrayed against them is a myriad group of sentient beings who will stop at nothing to bring down Nathan Brazil. But Brazil is not that easily gotten rid of, and he has already snuck into the Well World without anyone realizing it. And he has special allies including Mavra Chang and Gypsy, who has suprising powers himself.
Twilight at the Well of Souls is the fifth book set in the Well World universe.

This was my first introduction into the entire series while I was in high school. Wrote a story based on the first book after all these years later now that I am almost 55 I still remember this and it helped me from mailing senior English back in 1982. The entire first 5 books is a must read. The watchers of the well was ok but the original series was the best of the lot in my opinion.Product details

I remember reading this years ago and enjoyed it even more this time. I'm going to finish the entire series.
This was a very good book
This is actually a fantastic book. 5 stars all the way. The entire series is a classic. I'm a longtime Chalker fan. This is not a review of the book. It is a statement about a bizzar happening. After a few calls I was able to convince that there was a problem. The books shipped fine, all five in the series. I read the first 4, brought back old memories. Just sat down with the 5th, this one, opened it up, AND... it's an entirely different book inside. Somehow the printer put the, in my case, "right cover on the wrong book".
But to the rescue. They're sending a replacement. Hope they look inside before sending.
A classic that the next generation needs to rediscover!
This is a classic series. Jack Chalker is brilliant.
Great book. Hope they make it into an Audible version.
Any lover of Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy should read this series. The highs and lows are both well rewarded. To top it off, for the age of this series, I genuinely believe this to be one of the most original spins on such classic Sci-Fi ideas Ever. I only wish I had found Chalker's works at a much younger age.
