Ashley St. Claire is in her last year of high school, and once again her family has to move. She has to give up all of her friends and move to a small town in the south.
All of the children are perfect. They say 'Ma'am' and 'Sir' to their elders, and they never talk back. On the second day of school, when she is sent to see the principal, she finds out, the hard way, why that is. Her school stills believes in corporal punishment.
When her father takes the school's side and not hers, she decides to run away. But a boy in her class, Jackson, stops her. He has taken an interest in Ashley.
Will she stay in this town or move away the second she graduates, thus breaking Jackson's heart?

This book is about Domestic Discipline Romance, containing love-making scenes. If you don't care for that, then this book isn't for you. Not for readers under 18.

I was excited to see a new Christian DD book because you don't see very many in the DD world. This book was okay the characters were young and still in high school so at times they came off as very immature. The town they lived in and the school they went to seemed a bit unrealistic, the fact that Ashley's father could go from never spanking her to as harsh as was felt unbelievable. Ashley's character really frustrated me the constant back and forth on her feelings for Jackson, and Jackson was really pushy about getting married. Throughout the book we get to watch them go through marriage classes and that's when it starts to feel like a "how to" book. There are only a few spanking scenes in this book and only one between Ashley and Jackson.
I would have liked more of the romance between Ashley and Jackson minus everyone else. A follow up would be nice!

A Man To Guide Her edition by Rachel Burns Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

The town seemed very judgmental and cruel. They should have embraced the family and mentored them and explained how the community worked. Overall, the town, church and school seemed unrealistic. The father jumped right in and ignored how it hurt his wife and daughter. I am Christian and hate to see other Christian judging others. Itnwas nice how Jackson was worried and cared about Ashley from the beginning.
A modern-age family moves to a domestic discipline community that does not accept any other way of life. This is the type of place that hits first and explains later. This is the type of place where the teachers are so immature and power hungry that they'll antagonize a student to provoke an act of defiance which will result in punishment. The Dad is such a spineless pushover that even though he was brought in to be the boss of everyone of the factory, he decides to adapt his family lifestyle to copy the community....I guess when in Rome? He doesn't have the balls to protect his daughter and decides to ignore the wishes of his wife and his daughter to double down with the town disciplinarians. And if daughter doesn't kowtow to the new rules (after successfully raising her for 18 years under a different set of rules) he's basically going to disown her. So she decides to runaway. Enter in the boy that fell in love with her at first sight. He does what he must to make her stay so he can woo her and make her his.
Good book.
Fast pasted. Wanted a little more detailed. Better background should have been given about the town places story drags
I started out liking the story then turned into a very different kind of story that I just wasn't loving. All characters are dry, very young, and sheltered from the world.I will not read anymore of this author stories.
The story is sweet, especially from a young love perspective, though a bit shy on the actual spanking and incredibly harsh and unrealistic when it does show up. This could be an excellent full length novel if the characters were allowed to develop realistically.
It doesn't seem, however, that anyone proofread the book, including the author. The grammar, spelling, sentence structure and occasional storyline errors make the story difficult to follow, and frustrating to read.
I enjoyed it. But then I love a good ol' fashion domestic discipline romance novel.
I read a lot by Rachel because her style and story lines are unique. This was one of the first I read by her, and I thought it cute and endearing. The more I read, the more I cared about the characters and what happens to them. And that's what a book is supposed to do, bring you into the story. I re-read this on a regular basis because sometimes I need a sweet story with believable characters and a happy ending. I'd give it 5 stars, but grammar & typo errors are bothersome.
